A few minutes away from Dubai main metro line (stop at Business Bay), you’ll find the world’s tallest hotel (355 meters) , which happens to be a Marriott property.

Great news as an SPG / Marriott Platinum, isn’t it ? If you have points to spend, it’s a category 7.

First nice surprise : my Club Room upgrade on the 66th floor

I booked the cheapest room available and got upgraded to an Executive Room on the 66th floor, facing the sea (and a Westin next door:)

For you Marriott or SPG platinum wondering, no, I did not have to ask for anything (and it was an early check-in)

I’ll talk about the exceptional Executive lounge a little later in this report.

The room itself was really spacious, with a large desk, some extra seat I did not use, a great coffee machine and my favorite point, an awesome view. The bathroom is also on the plus side and, although i used the shower , I have to say the bathtub view was pretty fantastic (let’s keep it for a romantic stay another time)

This is the bathroom view from my executive room on the 66th floor @jwmarriottmarquisdubai , the world tallest hotel ! And of course it’s in #Dubai ❤🇦🇪 As a Marriott platinum i got a great upgrade and early check-in, plus of course access to the executive lounge(24/7) on the 37th floor. So #frequentflyers , this is a great option in this area ! #hotel #hotellover #hotellife #marriott #dxb #marriottrewards #lifewelltravelled #igtravel #luxurytravel #besthotel #luxuryhotel #gltlove #ladiesgoneglobal #hotelgram #wearetravelgirls #wanderlust #skyscraper #view #travelawesome #visitdubai #mydubaipics #JWtreatment #travelbrilliantly #travelstoke #igerdubai #dubai❤ #Dubaistyle #dubaihotels

Gym and Pool

The swimming pool is nice, but not that suited for laps : while it’s emptier in the morning, it gets busy in the afternoon. The staff is friendly and if that’s your thing, you’ll definitely enjoy the pool bar.

Don’t forget to take a shower looking at the Burj Khalifa !

I enjoyed the gym, for the technogym machine, the space and the nice view. Sorry I could not take pictures there. I asked for kettlebells and they had some « in the back ». Private training and yoga classes are available on demand.

The Executive Lounge : awesome, to say the least

The hotel’s executive lounge occupies the whole 37th floor. It’s open 24/7 and is basically a full service level, as you’ll get a huge breakfast (with live cooking and buffets and some fans like me ), a huge tea-time too (more like lunch + tea time) and happy hours with a wide choice of drinks and very nice things to eat (including great desserts, kuddos to the pastry team !)

Some of the staff members are amazing, other are just colder, it really depends who you « bond » with.

I also used a lot the business center on the same level. A full business zone with lounges and a  » no kid » policy is available, with computers and a printer. As I broke my keyboard during my stay in Dubai, I appreciated the quietness of the place, although a few computers don’t seem enough for the size of the hotel (during high season I think it might be a different story)
